| Bohemian Bardot Rings in all their glory! |
Having pined over the magnificent jewels from Samantha Wills for far too long it was only fitting that we would take advantage of the opportunity to meet the talented designer herself! Being Halloween, it was definitely a night of treating for us as we got to get up close with the jewels from the new ‘Dawns Dusk’ collection. But before we tell you about our star struck meeting with Miss Wills, let us tell you a little bit about her amazing label.
Samantha Wills is an Australian born jewellery designer from Sydney. Now based in New York, the young designer debuted her collection in 2004 during Australian Fashion Week. In less than a decade, Wills has built an accessory empire with awards from The New York Times who named her the 2011 Break-Out Star and Cosmopolitan Australia who nominated Wills for their Fun Fearless Female of 2012.
Samantha Wills is an entirely self-taught designer who is an artist at heart, her designs based on her travels around the world. It is her sense of ‘wanderlust’ that provides the over arching theme for her collections with her pieces closely linked to the zodiac signs and her travels abroad. Wills’ unique talent for setting semi-precious stones against various metals sees her create a bohemian elegance that is effortlessly stylish.
Wills categorizes her designs as bold and colourful, suited to a daring individual. Naturally we fashion crazed girls have become obsessed with this designer, leaving us unable to get enough of the statement jewels!
So you can imagine our delight when Mocha Australia posted on their Instagram account that Miss Wills herself would be making an appearance for the launch of her new collection at Chadstone... tonight! Excited beyond belief, the sheer beauty of Samantha took us aback before even walking into the store. However, when we finally got the chance to meet her, we promptly switched to full blogger mode! Listening to her describe her inspiration for the new ‘Dawns Dusk’ collection, Wills expressed her love for rose gold and a beautiful mix of blush stones and sparkling crystals as focal points for the collection. Also appearing in the collection were art deco inspired pieces boasting stunning turquoise stones set against tones of embossed antique gold – being turquoise, these were definitely some of our favourite pieces!

After expressing our love for the new collection and shamelessly conveying our obsession for the Bohemian Bardot rings, we finally got a change to ask Wills what her favorite design and favorite gemstone selections were. Taking a moment to consider her response, Wills explained that “it’s so hard to choose as it’s like being asked who your favorite child is, how can you say!...but I’ll always love the Bohemian Bardot rings, they are a big statement for the brand” – (check!) In regards to her favourite gemstone she replied, “I’d have to say turquoise, it’s my birth stone too!” (double check!), This statement brought about a simultaneous wave of joy for us as we quickly exclaimed, “turquoise is our favourite too!!” - whilst also wondering when on earth is your birthday?! I hope it’s the same time as mine!! (queue stalker moment). Another fun fact we picked up from Wills was that her stone mason was able to fashion unique veining into each stone, making each design an original!! A one-of-a-kind Bohemian Bardot, particularly from the new collections' exclusive range for Mocha, is DEFINITELY in our near future...counting the days 'til they appear in store!

There’s nothing stcksandstnes likes more than to see an Australian success story, especially for someone as genuine and talented as Samantha Wills. Thank you Mocha Australia for providing us with this opportunity to meet one of the most beloved jewellery designers in not only Australia but the world!
