Styleyes: Spain snapshot

Spanish fashion is far from understated. This culture rich nation perfectly represents their individuality through the colourful and vibrant clothing designs that saturate the city!

With internationally recognised brands, Spain is responisble for a lot of our favourite clothing chains including none other than Zara, Mango and Sefra. Other major brands from the stylish spainards include Desigual and Bimba y Lola (which is a cheeky fave of ours)! The colourful designs and bold prints used in most Spainish designs sees people literally donning their culture on their chests!

I love the individuality in Spainish clothing and the consequential build up of personalities such designs allow you to create. Differing from that of other European designs, the Spainish definitely have a bold presence on my street styling radar! Popular trends in this part of the world includes patterns, patterns, and more patterns. The Spainish were crazy for anything with a little detailing, clearly signaling a contrast against the block colours of the French.  Nothing was left un touched with even their shoes often holding some form of patterned, beaded or studded design. My favourite of course was the jewlery, which was chunky, colourful and often gold in metal! What's not to love?!

Another obvious inspiration lies in the Spainsh architecture. The building designs commonly featured many intricate details and little pieces of material that would come together to create something spectacular. This was most noticeable in Barcelona with work of Gaudi heavily influencing the design of Gaudi park and the famous Cathedral, Sagrada Família!

This brings us to the last of the European street styling snapshots for 2013! It's been so much fun keeping an eye out for trends I have noticed roaming the streets of France, Italy and Spain! The differences between the three are so diverse yet compliment one another well. Can't wait to see what is waiting in Thailand, especially with the weather difference, the fashions are sure to take a different direction! Stay tuned for that post coming up next.
